Galaxo (formerly Fisplay) vs InfoBox: hardware bundle or cloud software?

Updated 20.10.202611 min readKasper VälimäkiKasper Välimäki

400+ businesses trust InfoBox

Fisplay renamed itself Galaxo in September 2026, and its FisplayCloud software is now called Galaxo Infochannel. Existing contracts continue unchanged. Galaxo is a Finnish hardware-bundle provider: every screen needs Galaxo's own media player (€257/screen), and every order adds the Käyttöönotto Starter package (€890).

The software has three public tiers: Basic from €9.90/screen/month, Standard from €24/screen/month and Pro from €32/screen/month when you prepay 36 months. Shorter terms cost more. Videos and websites unlock on Standard, Power BI and unlimited users and screens on Pro.

InfoBox offers two routes: 1) cloud software only from €7/screen/month for your own TVs and 2) turnkey display leasing (Hisense or Maxhub professional display + software + pre-installation) from €24/screen/month on a 36-month Grenke lease. Every feature is included from the cheapest price, and the software runs directly on an Android TV with no extra device. First year with five screens: InfoBox €540, Galaxo Pro €4,335 (12 months of software, media players and Starter).

At a glance
  1. Galaxo (formerly Fisplay) is a hardware-bundle provider: every screen needs Galaxo's own media player, and the software tiers set the number of users, the maximum number of screens and the allowed content types. Its strengths are a wide range of its own hardware from giant LED displays to outdoor screens, proactive remote monitoring of screens on the Pro tier, data in Finland and a long list of references from large Finnish organisations.

  2. InfoBox is cloud software: the platform runs directly on an Android TV's built-in system with no separate media player. For older TVs or LG and Samsung displays, any Android device will do (your own tablet, Fire TV, a generic Android stick or the optional €59 InfoBox Basic stick). Every integration (Power BI, Canva, Google Slides, SharePoint, Google Drive, Lounastaja, Sitedrive, Sinebrychoff ContentHub, YouTube), videos, websites, scheduling and unlimited users and screens are included from the cheapest price.

  3. First year with five screens, comparing like-for-like features: InfoBox €540, Galaxo Pro €4,335 (software €2,160, media players €1,285 and Käyttöönotto Starter €890). Galaxo's Basic tier is cheaper, but it is limited to three screens and has no videos, websites or integrations.

Side by side

Quick comparison

Both are Finnish digital signage providers. The difference is clear: Galaxo sells a hardware bundle (media player + software + onboarding) in three public tiers, and only the top tier includes features InfoBox already offers at its lowest price. InfoBox sells cloud software only, which you use on your own TVs.

Pricing

Price comparison: Galaxo vs InfoBox

Every order adds a media player per screen and a one-off Käyttöönotto Starter package. InfoBox charges for the software only, per screen per month, and every feature is included from the first screen.

Features

Point by point

Getting started

Galaxo

You choose a tier (Basic, Standard, Pro or Enterprise) and a prepaid term (6–36 months), and Galaxo delivers the media player. Every order includes Käyttöönotto Starter (€890): a kick-off meeting, one content template, environment and user setup, and remote admin training. A free 30-day trial is available, and the trial media player is delivered the next business day.

InfoBox

You sign up online, upload your content and connect a screen with the app. Your first screen is live in 15 minutes. Onboarding, remote or on site, is included in the software price, and there is no minimum number of screens. Most customers don't need lengthy training, though, because the Platform is deliberately built to be learned in a few minutes. Billing is annual, and you can end the subscription at the end of the year.

Displays and hardware model

Galaxo

Every screen needs Galaxo's own media player (Galaxo Mediatoistin AM9, €257/screen), which plugs into the TV's HDMI port. The built-in player of LG signage displays can be used when agreed through the seller. On the Pro tier, Galaxo replaces the media player with a new one every 3 years as part of the service. Galaxo also sells its own hardware lines: Galaxo Touch touch screens, totem displays, Galaxo Outdoor outdoor screens, Galaxo Bright window displays and LG signage displays.

InfoBox

An Android TV (Sony, Philips, TCL, Vestel, Maxhub, Hisense and other Android TV brands) works directly with no extra device. For older TVs or LG and Samsung displays, any Android device plugged into the HDMI port will do: your own tablet, Fire TV, a generic Android stick or the optional €59 InfoBox Basic stick. The displays themselves are the customer's own or bought separately.

Feature limits by tier

Galaxo

Galaxo Infochannel is split into tiers with features staggered between them. On Basic you get images, PDF and PowerPoint files, a video wall and image scheduling for up to three screens. Videos, websites, YouTube and Google Workspace need Standard. Power BI, Canva, Easoft ERP, touch screen use, split screen and remote monitoring unlock on Pro. The number of users, presentations and the maximum number of screens are also staggered. System updates and support are included on every tier.

InfoBox

InfoBox has no tiers. Every feature is available from the cheapest price: scheduling, user management, videos, websites, the Power BI integration, screen status, automatic updates and unlimited users and screens. The price only changes with the number of screens (€9/month for 1–9 screens, €7/month for 10–50 screens).

Creating content and integrations

Galaxo

Browser-based Galaxo Infochannel management. On Standard: YouTube, Google Workspace (Slides, Docs, Sheets and Looker Studio) and ready-made views for a clock, weather, name days and HSL commuter trains. On Pro, also Power BI, Canva, Easoft ERP and a news view. On Enterprise, custom integrations. No lunch menu or restaurant-specific integrations are mentioned on the website.

InfoBox

Browser-based management. You upload images, videos, PDFs and website URLs directly, already at the lowest price. Canva and Google Slides content syncs automatically in the background, and YouTube, Power BI, Sinebrychoff ContentHub, Lounastaja (lunch menus in Finnish restaurants), Sitedrive (construction site schedules), SharePoint and Google Drive are shown from a web address. Lounastaja and Sitedrive are Finnish integrations that Galaxo does not have.

Remote management and monitoring

Galaxo

Browser-based management for many screens on every tier. On Pro, Galaxo offers automatic remote monitoring and fault tracking of screens, plus the customer's own monitoring view. This is a genuine Galaxo strength: if a screen goes dark, Galaxo notices for you.

InfoBox

One dashboard for every screen, already at the lowest price. Real-time online/offline status, remote diagnostics and content updates without a site visit. InfoBox does not, however, have a separate monitoring service where a team watches your screens for you. The customer monitors from the dashboard. If you need an active monitoring service, Galaxo is the better choice here.

Data location and security

Galaxo

According to Galaxo, all its servers are in Finland, and data is stored and backed up in Finland. Galaxo says it follows the VAHTI and KATAKRI baseline used in Finnish public administration, and an on-premise option installed on the customer's own premises is also available. No third-party certifications (SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001) are mentioned.

InfoBox

Data in Google Cloud's Finland region (europe-north1, Hamina). Publicly stated, fully GDPR compliant with no separate data processing agreement needed. A Finnish legal entity subject to Finnish data protection law. There are no third-party audit certifications yet, but practical security (encryption, access control, backups) is in line with industry norms.

Support and training

Galaxo

Free phone and email support in Finnish and English on every tier, with the support line open weekdays 8–16. Personal remote support on Pro. Remote admin training is included in the Käyttöönotto Starter package. Offices in Vantaa and Oulu.

InfoBox

Daily support in Finnish by email and chat, with guides publicly online in the Help Center at help.infoboxi.com. Onboarding, remote or on site, is included in the software price for every customer. Installation is available for a small extra fee if you want it. Founder Kasper Välimäki handles the hardest cases himself (kasper@infoboxi.com). Office in Tampere.

Contract model

Galaxo

The software is prepaid for 6, 12, 24 or 36 months. Under the terms of contract, the service continues until further notice after the prepaid term, with billing continuing in advance in periods of 3, 6 or 12 months. Notice must be given 3 months before the start of the next billing period. Galaxo can raise prices by up to 5% a year with 90 days' notice.

InfoBox

Billed annually in euros with no long commitments. You can start with one screen, add screens at any time and end the subscription at the end of the year.

Product lines and turnkey deliveries

Galaxo

Galaxo sells a wide range of its own hardware: media players, Galaxo Touch touch screens, totem displays, Galaxo Outdoor outdoor screens, Galaxo Bright window displays, LG signage displays and installed Galaxo LED giant displays. LED displays are available to rent or lease, with a maintenance contract. Turnkey delivery from hardware to installation by one supplier is a Galaxo strength.

InfoBox

InfoBox focuses on software. When needed, we also deliver hardware (displays, LED screens, outdoor screens, service terminals) as optional extras through our partners, but we have no product line of our own. If you want one supplier to handle all hardware and installation on one invoice, Galaxo is better set up for that.

Honest assessment

Where Galaxo is the better choice

Galaxo (formerly Fisplay) has built a strong position as a full-service supplier to large Finnish organisations. In some situations it is clearly a better choice than InfoBox.

  • Proactive remote monitoring (on Pro): Galaxo monitors screens automatically and acts on faults. InfoBox shows real-time screen status, but the customer does the monitoring from the dashboard. If you have dozens of screens across several locations and no in-house IT skills, Galaxo's monitoring is a genuine strength.
  • Easoft ERP integration (on Pro): a named integration with the Finnish Easoft ERP system. InfoBox does not have this integration.
  • A wide range of its own hardware: Galaxo sells media players, touch, totem, outdoor and window displays and installed giant LED displays, and LED displays come with rental, leasing and maintenance contracts. InfoBox delivers hardware through partners, without a product line of its own.
  • Public-sector requirements: Galaxo says it follows the VAHTI and KATAKRI baseline and also offers on-premise installation. If your procurement requires these, Galaxo is better prepared.
  • A new media player every 3 years (on Pro): Galaxo replaces the media player as part of the service. InfoBox has no equivalent hardware replacement service, because the Platform runs on the customer's own Android devices.
  • A longer trial: Galaxo's free trial lasts 30 days and includes a media player, InfoBox's trial lasts 14 days.
  • A long reference list: Galaxo has over 350 customers and over 3,900 screens in the Nordics, with references including UPM-Kymmene, Kemijoki, Neste, S Group, Mehiläinen and Barona. InfoBox was founded in 2024, so it has a shorter proven track record.
Choosing

Which one is right for you

Choose Galaxo if

Galaxo is a natural choice when you want a full-service model from one supplier or need Galaxo's named extra services.

  • You need proactive remote monitoring, with Galaxo watching your screens for you
  • You use Easoft ERP and want a direct integration with your screens
  • You want media players, displays, installation, software and monitoring from one supplier on one invoice
  • You are planning a giant LED display for outdoor advertising or indoors and want it installed, rented or leased
  • Your procurement requires the VAHTI or KATAKRI baseline or an on-premise installation
  • You want the media player renewed every 3 years as part of the service (Pro tier)
  • Your organisation prefers a long prepaid contract term for a lower monthly price
Recommended

Choose InfoBox if

InfoBox is a natural choice when you want focused cloud software without a mandatory hardware bundle, an onboarding fee or expensive upper tiers.

  • You want the software directly on your Android TV without a separate media player or hardware bundle
  • You don't want to pay €257 per screen for a media player and €890 for onboarding before your first screen is even on
  • You need videos, websites, user management and integrations (YouTube, Power BI, Canva, Google Slides, Sinebrychoff ContentHub, SharePoint, Google Drive) at the lowest price, not only on Standard or Pro
  • You need the Lounastaja integration (lunch menus that update automatically) or the Sitedrive integration (construction site schedules), which Galaxo does not have
  • 1–50 screens covers your current needs (restaurants, shops, bars, construction sites, offices, lunch restaurants, pharmacies, furniture stores)
  • You want one public price per screen per month, not tiers and prepaid terms that change the price
  • You value annual billing without a 6–36 month prepayment and a contract that continues until further notice
  • You want to start a trial online straight away, without a credit card, a sales call or a hardware delivery
  • You want a turnkey solution at a transparent monthly price: InfoBox also offers display leasing (Hisense or Maxhub display, software and pre-installation in one package from €24/screen/month, 36-month lease through Grenke)
Switching

How to switch from Galaxo to InfoBox

A Galaxo (formerly Fisplay) contract is prepaid for the chosen term and continues until further notice after that, so check your notice period in good time. You can still start an InfoBox trial side by side on one screen before making a final decision. Galaxo media players cannot be used with InfoBox.

  1. 1Start the 14-day free trial at infoboxi.com, no credit card needed.
  2. 2Check your contract's notice period: under Galaxo's terms, notice must be given 3 months before the start of the next billing period.
  3. 3Export your current content from Galaxo Infochannel: images, videos and PDFs to your computer.
  4. 4List your current integrations (e.g. Power BI, Easoft ERP, Google Workspace). Check that InfoBox's ready-made integrations cover the ones that are critical for you. InfoBox does not have an Easoft ERP integration.
  5. 5Upload the content to InfoBox: images, videos, PDFs and website URLs. Connect the ready-made integrations to YouTube, Power BI, Canva, Google Slides, Sinebrychoff ContentHub, Lounastaja, Google Drive and others.
  6. 6Connect one screen with the InfoBox app. Options: the built-in system of an existing Android TV, your own Android tablet, Fire TV, a generic Android stick or the €59 InfoBox Basic stick.
  7. 7Run both side by side: keep Galaxo on your other screens and compare ease of use, content and total cost for a couple of weeks. Move the rest of your screens to InfoBox when your Galaxo contract term ends.

Frequently asked questions

Is Galaxo (formerly Fisplay) cheaper than InfoBox?+

Not when you compare like-for-like features. Galaxo's lowest price is the Basic tier at €9.90/screen/month when you prepay 36 months, but Basic is limited to three screens and has no videos, websites or integrations. Power BI and unlimited users and screens need the Pro tier (€32–38/screen/month depending on the term). On top of that, every order adds a media player at €257/screen and Käyttöönotto Starter at €890. First year with five screens: InfoBox €540, Galaxo Pro €4,335.

What is Galaxo and what happened to Fisplay?+

Fisplay renamed itself Galaxo in September 2026. The company had bought the Galaxo digital signage business in June 2025, and now its whole digital signage business operates under the Galaxo name. The FisplayCloud software is now called Galaxo Infochannel, and fisplay.com redirects to galaxo.fi. According to Galaxo, existing contracts continue unchanged.

Does InfoBox need a media player like Galaxo's?+

Not necessarily. An Android TV (Sony, Philips, TCL, Vestel, Maxhub, Hisense and other Android TV brands) works directly with InfoBox with no extra device. For older TVs or LG and Samsung displays, any Android device in the HDMI port will do: your own tablet, Fire TV, a generic Android stick or the optional €59 InfoBox Basic stick. Galaxo adds its own media player to every order (€257/screen).

Can I switch from Galaxo to InfoBox mid-contract?+

You can start the InfoBox 14-day free trial at any point, even while your Galaxo contract is active. A Galaxo contract is prepaid for the chosen term, and under its terms it continues until further notice after that. Notice must be given 3 months before the start of the next billing period, so check the date in good time. Content (images, videos, PDFs) is easy to export to your computer and upload to InfoBox again.

Does Galaxo's Basic tier have the same features as InfoBox?+

No. On Galaxo's Basic tier you get images, PDF and PowerPoint files, a video wall and image scheduling for one user and up to three screens. It lacks videos, websites and integrations. Standard adds videos, websites, YouTube, Google Workspace and ready-made views (clock, weather, name days, HSL commuter trains). Pro adds Power BI, Canva, Easoft ERP, touch screen use, split screen and remote monitoring. InfoBox includes videos, websites, scheduling, user management and every integration from the lowest price.

Does Galaxo have Finnish customers?+

Yes, Galaxo has a strong Finnish customer base in large companies and the public sector. References include UPM-Kymmene, Kemijoki, Neste, S Group, Mehiläinen, Barona, Hyvinkään Lämpövoima and several municipalities. The company reports over 350 customers and over 3,900 screens in the Nordics. Galaxo is particularly strong in large organisations, while InfoBox's customers are mostly Finnish SMEs (restaurants, shops, construction sites, offices).

Do both store data in Finland?+

Yes. InfoBox data is in Google Cloud's Finland region (europe-north1, Hamina), fully GDPR compliant, and data is not transferred outside the EU. According to Galaxo, its servers are in Finland, and data is stored and backed up in Finland. Galaxo also offers an on-premise option and says it follows the VAHTI and KATAKRI baseline, which can be decisive in public-sector procurement.

Does InfoBox have remote monitoring like Galaxo's Pro tier?+

Not the same kind of service. The InfoBox dashboard shows real-time online/offline status for every screen, for every customer, and remote diagnostics and content updates work without a site visit. The customer monitors the screens themselves, though. On Galaxo's Pro tier (€32–38/screen/month), Galaxo monitors screens automatically and acts on faults. If you need active monitoring for dozens of screens across several locations and have no in-house IT skills, Galaxo is better set up for that.

Can I get InfoBox as a turnkey package with a professional display?+

Yes. InfoBox also offers display leasing, where a Hisense or Maxhub professional display (32–100 inches, 4K UHD, 500 nits, built for 24/7 use), InfoBox software, pre-installation and delivery come in one package from €24/screen/month. The lease runs for 36 months through Grenke, and the buyout price at the end of the contract is €50 per screen. This is a direct alternative to Galaxo's hardware bundle, and both the price and the package contents are public. See the packages at /leasing.
