Firstview vs InfoBox: meeting room tech or signage?

400+ businesses trust InfoBox

Firstview is a 20-year-old AV integrator from Turku. Alongside digital signage it sells meeting room technology (Artome smart furniture and door displays), a queue management system (FirstQueue) and a background music service (FirstView Music). These products are usually combined with Philips PPDS displays in a single quote.

InfoBox is a cloud-based digital signage platform with two routes: 1) software only for your own Android TV from €7/screen/month, or 2) turnkey display leasing (Hisense or Maxhub display + software + pre-installation) from €24/screen/month on a 36-month Grenke lease. The software comes with a 14-day free trial. For five screens, the first-year cost with InfoBox software is at most €835, and the equivalent turnkey lease for five 55-inch displays is €2,100/year.

At the price levels in Firstview's own pricing guide, the same setup with hardware and installation costs €7,500–25,000. Choose Firstview if you need meeting room technology, queue management or background music from the same supplier. Choose InfoBox if you want a focused digital signage platform at a transparent price, either as software for your own TVs or as turnkey leasing.

At a glance
  1. Firstview is a Finnish AV integrator founded in 2004. Alongside digital signage it has its own product lines for meeting room technology (Artome smart furniture and door displays), queue management (FirstQueue) and background music (FirstView Music). Strength: 20 years of experience and key customers such as Supercell, KONE, Sokos Hotels, Silmäasema and the Port of Turku.

  2. InfoBox is a focused digital signage platform. No meeting room technology, queue management or background music as separate product lines: the whole Platform is built around one job, managing digital signage from the cloud. It runs directly on any Android TV, and for other TVs there is the €59 InfoBox Basic stick. You get started online yourself, your first screen is live in minutes, and billing is annual with no long commitments.

  3. For five screens, the first-year total cost with Firstview is typically €7,500–25,000 (display, CMS and installation according to their own pricing guide). Choose InfoBox if you want a focused digital signage platform you can roll out yourself on your own TVs.

Price comparison: Firstview vs InfoBox

Firstview does not publish its prices online, and every project is quoted individually. The company does, however, publish its own guide to industry price levels (firstview.fi/infonayton-hinta), which gives a reliable picture of the total cost. InfoBox publishes its price directly on the home page, and displays are not included: most customers use TVs they already have or buy them separately.

Firstview

Features

Point by point

Getting started

Firstview

Contact the sales team, receive a quote, sign a contract, then on-site installation. It takes days or weeks from signing to the first screen. This is a deliberate service model: the customer never has to touch hardware or cabling.

InfoBox

You sign up online, upload your content and connect a screen with the app. Your first screen is live in 15 minutes. Onboarding, remote or on site, is included in the software price. Most customers don't need lengthy training, though, because the Platform is deliberately built to be learned in a few minutes.

Displays and hardware model

Firstview

Firstview is the only Philips PPDS Global Alliance Partner in Finland and sells professional Philips displays as part of every project. Its own marketing says that ordinary TVs can't handle continuous use and don't offer the same manageability. In practice this means the display is part of the quote and customers don't usually bring their own TV.

InfoBox

InfoBox is pure software. It runs directly on any Android TV, and for other TVs there is the €59 InfoBox Basic stick, which plugs into an HDMI port. The display itself is the customer's own or bought separately, and most start with the TVs already in the store or office. If your use case needs a professional 24/7 display (e.g. outdoor advertising or a hospital corridor), a Philips PPDS display also works with InfoBox, because many models have a built-in Android system.

Creating and updating content

Firstview

MediaCloud is a browser-based content management solution for updating screens remotely. Firstview also offers content production services: the team can create ads and campaigns on the customer's behalf or advise on content planning.

InfoBox

Browser-based management. You upload images, videos, PDFs and website URLs directly. Canva and Google Slides content syncs automatically in the background, and YouTube, Power BI, Sinebrychoff ContentHub, Lounastaja, SharePoint, Google Drive and Sitedrive are shown from a web address with no manual uploading. If you want to make ads yourself, the Canva integration gives you templates and tools. InfoBox does not offer separate content production services.

Integrations

Firstview

The website mentions a general calendar app integration for meeting room displays. Specific integrations (e.g. Microsoft 365, Power BI, Slack) are not named. Custom integrations are probably available per project.

InfoBox

Ready-made integrations with Power BI, Canva, Google Slides, SharePoint, Google Drive, Lounastaja (lunch menus), Sitedrive (construction sites), Sinebrychoff ContentHub and YouTube. All publicly named, not hidden behind project contracts. Plus any website by its URL.

Meeting room solutions

Firstview

Firstview has two product lines of its own for meeting rooms: Artome smart furniture (built-in projector, professional audio and an integrated camera that turns any space into a meeting room) and door displays with calendar integration and ad hoc booking. Lobby displays and wayfinding complete the offering.

InfoBox

InfoBox has no separate meeting room solution. You can still show calendars, meeting content and wayfinding on any TV. If you need professional meeting room furniture or door displays with calendar integration, Firstview is the more specialised option.

Queue management and background music

Firstview

Firstview offers the FirstQueue queue management system (ticket kiosk, QR mobile queueing, a browser interface for staff, queueing for multiple services and analytics across locations) and the FirstView Music background music service (royalty-free library, scheduled announcements, directional audio for privacy zones in pharmacies and healthcare). Both are product lines of their own, not single features.

InfoBox

InfoBox focuses solely on the digital signage platform. If you need queue management or background music from the same supplier, Firstview is clearly the better choice here. InfoBox customers buy these separately from their own suppliers (e.g. Q-Matic, Sonos for Business).

Remote management and monitoring

Firstview

Browser-based management for many screens with MediaCloud. Real-time status monitoring as part of the service contract. An installer and support team is available when something goes wrong.

InfoBox

One dashboard for every screen. Real-time online/offline status, remote diagnostics and content updates without a site visit. In offline mode, content keeps playing on schedule and syncs when the network returns.

Support and service model

Firstview

Phone and email support in Finnish, Mon–Fri 8–16 (tuki@firstview.fi). The Avainlippu (Key Flag) mark confirms it is Finnish-made. Content production services and on-site maintenance are often part of the service package. Showroom in the Arabia centre in Helsinki and an office in Turku.

InfoBox

Daily support by email and chat, with guides publicly online in the help.infoboxi.com Help Center. Onboarding, remote or on site, is included in the software price. Installation is available for a small extra fee if you want it. Founder Kasper Välimäki handles the hardest cases himself at kasper@infoboxi.com.

Contract model

Firstview

A multi-year service contract is typical when the project includes hardware, installation, content services and updates. Project price up front + a monthly fee for the CMS and services.

InfoBox

Billed annually with no long commitments. You can start with one screen, add screens at any time and end the subscription at the end of the year.

Honest assessment

Where Firstview is the better choice

Over 20 years, Firstview has built a strong position as an AV supplier to large Finnish organisations. In some situations it is clearly a better choice than InfoBox.

  • Breadth of the product range: own product lines for meeting room technology (Artome smart furniture and door displays), queue management (FirstQueue) and background music (FirstView Music). InfoBox focuses solely on digital signage, so it has none of these product lines. If you want all of these from the same supplier, Firstview is the natural choice.
  • Over 20 years of experience since 2004 and the Avainlippu (Key Flag) mark: a safe choice for a risk-averse buyer that makes procurement easier for a municipality or larger organisation.
  • The only Philips PPDS Global Alliance Partner in Finland: professional 24/7 displays for tough conditions (outdoor advertising, hospitals, ports, corridor communication). If your use case really needs a commercial-grade display, an ordinary TV is no match.
  • A strong reference base of large companies and demanding environments: Supercell, KONE, Sokos Hotels, Radisson, Schenker, Finnair Cargo, Silmäasema, Forum Marinum, the Port of Turku and the municipality of Nousiainen.
  • Turnkey delivery: hardware, installation, content services and CMS from one supplier on one invoice. Suits organisations without an in-house IT or AV team.
  • On-site installation, a showroom in the Arabia centre in Helsinki and an office in Turku: a physical presence and the chance to see the hardware before you buy.
  • Content production services: Firstview's team can create ads and content on the customer's behalf. With InfoBox, customers create their own content (helped by the Canva integration).
Choosing

Which one is right for you

Choose Firstview if

Firstview is a natural choice when you need other AV products or specific hardware requirements from the same supplier alongside digital signage.

  • Alongside digital signage you need meeting room technology (Artome smart furniture or door displays), queue management (FirstQueue) or background music (FirstView Music) from the same supplier
  • You need Philips PPDS-grade professional displays for continuous 24/7 use (e.g. outdoor advertising, hospitals, ports, museums, tough conditions)
  • You want to buy displays, installation and CMS from the same supplier in a single turnkey quote
  • Your procurement process requires the Avainlippu (Key Flag) mark, over 20 years of track record or an established supplier to large organisations
  • Your organisation has no in-house IT or AV support and you want on-site installation and content production services
  • You are planning a large AV investment with a project budget of thousands or tens of thousands of euros
  • You value a showroom and the chance to visit Helsinki or Turku to see the hardware before deciding
Recommended

Choose InfoBox if

InfoBox is a natural choice when you need a focused digital signage platform for customer-facing or internal communication, without the extra cost of meeting room technology, queue management or background music.

  • You need a digital signage platform only, not separate product lines for queueing, background music or special meeting room furniture
  • You already have TVs or plan to buy displays separately (e.g. from a local store), and you don't want to pay for hardware as part of a €5,000–25,000 service contract
  • You want pricing published online and a 14-day trial without a sales call or credit card
  • 1–50 screens covers your current needs (restaurants, shops, bars, construction sites, offices, lunch restaurants, pharmacies, furniture stores)
  • You value annual billing without long commitments
  • You need ready-made integrations with YouTube, Power BI, Canva, Google Slides, Sinebrychoff ContentHub, Lounastaja or Google Drive, and don't want to wait for a custom integration project
  • You want your screens to keep playing without a network (offline mode), for example on a construction site or in a volunteer fire brigade's break room
  • You value having your first screen live in a few minutes, not weeks after a sales visit
  • You want a turnkey solution at a transparent monthly price: InfoBox now also offers display leasing (Hisense or Maxhub display, software and pre-installation in one package from €24/screen/month, 36-month lease through Grenke)
Switching

How to switch from Firstview to InfoBox

Your Firstview contract may run until further notice. You can still start trying InfoBox side by side on one screen before making a final decision.

  1. 1Sign up for the 14-day free trial at infoboxi.com, no credit card needed.
  2. 2Gather your current MediaCloud content: download images, videos and PDFs to your computer. MediaCloud is browser-based, so exporting content is straightforward.
  3. 3Upload the content to InfoBox: images, videos, PDFs and website URLs. Connect the ready-made integrations to YouTube, Power BI, Canva, Google Slides, Sinebrychoff ContentHub, Google Drive or Lounastaja.
  4. 4Connect one screen with the InfoBox app. Options: the built-in Android system of an existing Philips PPDS display, any Android TV, a tablet or the €59 InfoBox Basic stick.
  5. 5Run both side by side: keep your Firstview contract on your other screens and compare ease of use, content and total cost for a couple of weeks.
  6. 6Once the result is clear, give notice on your Firstview contract under its terms and move the rest of your screens to InfoBox. You can keep using your existing Philips displays with InfoBox, so they won't end up on a shelf.

Frequently asked questions

Is Firstview cheaper than InfoBox?+

Not even close. Firstview does not publish its prices online, but its own pricing guide at firstview.fi/infonayton-hinta says the CMS typically costs €10–50/month per screen, displays €500–5,000 depending on size and installation €200–1,000. At that level, the first-year total cost for five screens is €7,500–25,000. With InfoBox the same is at most €835 (€540 for software + at most €295 for sticks). InfoBox is structurally 9–30 times cheaper, because displays are not included in the price and the CMS price is lower to begin with.

Is a Philips PPDS display included in the InfoBox price?+

No. The InfoBox price (€7/screen/month) covers the software only. Most customers use TVs they already have or buy displays separately from a local store. If you want a professional 24/7 display (e.g. for outdoor advertising, a hospital corridor or a port gate), Philips PPDS is still a sensible choice, and you can buy one separately. InfoBox works with it, because many Philips PPDS displays have a built-in Android system.

Can I use my existing Firstview Philips displays with InfoBox?+

In most cases, yes. Many Philips PPDS displays have a built-in Android system that runs InfoBox directly, with no separate media player. If the display has no Android or you want a separate device to be safe, the €59 InfoBox Basic stick plugs into an HDMI port and the screen is ready in a few minutes. Your existing displays won't end up on a shelf when you switch.

Does InfoBox offer queue management or background music?+

Not as a product line. InfoBox focuses purely on the digital signage platform. If you need queue management, Firstview's FirstQueue or a separate supplier (e.g. Q-Matic) is a better fit. For background music, Finnish customers typically use Spotify for Business, Sonos for Business or Soundtrack Your Brand. InfoBox can show announcements and campaigns on screen, but a separate audio library or music licences are not part of the service.

Does InfoBox offer meeting room solutions?+

InfoBox has no separate meeting room solution and no smart furniture like Artome. You can still show calendars, meeting point information and wayfinding on any TV. Most Finnish offices manage well with that. If you need a projector, professional audio and an integrated camera in one package, Firstview's Artome or a similar AV integrator's solution is the better choice.

Can I switch from Firstview to InfoBox mid-contract?+

You can start the InfoBox 14-day free trial at any point, even while your Firstview contract is active. Running the two systems side by side on one screen gives you a realistic comparison before you commit. How your Firstview contract ends is set by its own terms, as service contracts are usually multi-year. You can still start the switch small, with new screens or ones whose Firstview billing is already ending.

Is InfoBox reliable compared with 20-year-old Firstview?+

Firstview was founded in 2004, InfoBox in 2024. That is an honest difference, and if your organisation requires a long track record, Firstview is stronger on that point. InfoBox currently serves over 400 Finnish businesses across eight industries, data is stored in Google Cloud's Finland region, and founder Kasper Välimäki is personally reachable. Annual billing without long commitments also means trying it is low risk: if InfoBox doesn't work for you, you can switch back without thousands of euros in sunk costs.

Is the data stored in Finland?+

InfoBox data is in Google Cloud's Finland region. The company is GDPR compliant, data is not transferred outside the EU and no separate data processing agreement is needed. Firstview does not specify where MediaCloud data is stored on its website. If data location is critical for you, check it with Firstview when you ask for a quote.

Can I get InfoBox as a turnkey package, like Firstview offers?+

Yes. InfoBox now also offers display leasing, where a Hisense or Maxhub display (32–100 inches), InfoBox software, pre-installation and delivery come in one package from €24/screen/month. The lease runs for 36 months through Grenke, and the buyout price at the end of the contract is €50 per screen. This matches Firstview's turnkey service model, but the price is public. See the packages at /leasing.
