ScreenCloud vs InfoBox: international or Finnish?

Updated 12.5.202611 min readKasper VälimäkiKasper Välimäki

400+ businesses trust InfoBox

ScreenCloud is a London-based digital signage platform founded in 2015 that serves more than 2,500 customers worldwide. Well-known customers include Coca-Cola Consolidated, Beiersdorf and the UK's NHS. Its strengths are around 100 ready-made integrations (including the full Microsoft 365 suite, Slack and Geckoboard), SOC 2 Type II certification and native apps for LG webOS and Samsung Tizen commercial displays.

InfoBox is a Finnish cloud-based digital signage platform from €7/screen/month, built around the needs of Finnish businesses: support in Finnish, public EUR pricing, data in Google Cloud's Finland region and local integrations with Lounastaja and Sitedrive. Software for five screens costs €540/year with InfoBox and about €1,100/year on ScreenCloud's cheapest Core plan, so ScreenCloud is structurally about twice as expensive. Choose ScreenCloud if you are the Finnish team of an international group and your IT works in English.

Choose InfoBox if you want a platform that works in Finnish for SME communications.

At a glance
  1. ScreenCloud is an international enterprise-grade platform: around 100 ready-made integrations (including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Power BI, Slack, Geckoboard and a dozen internal communications platforms), SOC 2 Type II certification audited annually and deep large-enterprise references (Coca-Cola Consolidated, Beiersdorf, NHS, PCL Construction). A strong choice if your organisation uses these tools every day.

  2. InfoBox focuses on Finnish SMEs: the platform, price list, support and onboarding are all available in Finnish. Data is stored in Google Cloud's Finland region. The price is public online in euros, with no quote process. Ready-made integrations with Power BI, Canva, Google Slides, SharePoint, Google Drive, Lounastaja, Sitedrive, Sinebrychoff ContentHub and YouTube cover the most common use cases of a Finnish restaurant, shop, construction site and office.

  3. The price gap grows with the number of screens. Annual software cost for five screens: InfoBox €540, ScreenCloud Core (cheapest plan) about €1,100, ScreenCloud Pro about €1,660. With 25 screens, InfoBox costs €2,100/year and ScreenCloud Pro about €8,300/year. Choose ScreenCloud if you need its enterprise integrations and certifications. Choose InfoBox if you want a clear, Finnish-language platform at an SME price.

Features

Point by point

Getting started

ScreenCloud

You sign up online and start a free trial. Core and Pro are self-service, with no onboarding included. The Enterprise plan (minimum 25 screens) includes paid onboarding and training. The interface is in English.

InfoBox

You sign up online, upload your content and connect a screen with the app. The first screen is up and running in 15 minutes. Remote or on-site onboarding is included in the software price, with no minimum number of screens. Most customers don't need lengthy training, though, because the Platform is deliberately so simple that you can learn it in a few minutes. The interface, guides and support are all available in Finnish.

Displays and hardware model

ScreenCloud

Supports a wide range: Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, Chrome OS, Windows, macOS and Mac mini, iPad, BrightSign players and native apps for LG webOS and Samsung Tizen commercial displays. Its own devices: PIXI ($65, an Android stick) and ScreenCloud OS ($199, a high-end player). If you have already standardised on LG or Samsung commercial displays, ScreenCloud runs directly on the display with no extra device.

InfoBox

Android TVs (Sony, Philips, TCL, Vestel, Maxhub, Hisense and others) run InfoBox directly with no extra device. For older TVs or LG and Samsung displays, any Android device plugged into the HDMI port will do: your own tablet, Fire TV, a generic Android stick or the optional €59 InfoBox Basic stick. The displays themselves are the customer's own, and most customers start with the TVs they already have in the shop or office.

Integrations and app library

ScreenCloud

Around 100 ready-made integrations are listed at screencloud.com/apps. The full Microsoft stack: Teams, Teams Rooms, SharePoint, Excel, Power BI, Outlook Calendar, OneDrive, Viva Engage. Google Workspace: Slides, Calendar, Sheets, Reviews, Alerts, Trends. Slack, Geckoboard (90+ KPI sources), Salesforce, Monday.com, Zendesk Reports. Internal communications platforms: Firstup, LumApps, Staffbase, Simpplr, Unily, Awardco, Bonusly. News services SkyNews, CNN, BBC, Reuters, WSJ.

InfoBox

Ready-made integrations with Power BI, Canva, Google Slides, SharePoint, Google Drive, Lounastaja (lunch menus in Finnish restaurants), Sitedrive (construction site schedules), Sinebrychoff ContentHub and YouTube. Plus any website via URL. Fewer than ScreenCloud, but enough for the most common needs of a Finnish restaurant, shop, construction site and office. Lounastaja and Sitedrive are purely Finnish integrations that ScreenCloud does not offer.

Creating and updating content

ScreenCloud

Browser-based management. Includes its own creation tools: Canvas (in-browser design), Quick Post (quick updates) and Playgrounds (HTML, CSS and JavaScript for your own apps). Canva integration built in. Design templates on every plan. The Pro plan also adds Dashboards views for power users.

InfoBox

Browser-based management. You upload images, videos, PDFs and website URLs directly. Canva and Google Slides content syncs automatically in the background, and YouTube, Power BI, Sinebrychoff ContentHub, Lounastaja, SharePoint, Google Drive and Sitedrive are shown from a web address. The built-in design tools are simpler than ScreenCloud's and focus on typical restaurant and shop content (offers, menus, campaigns). If you want to make the ads yourself, the Canva integration gives you the templates and tools.

Security and certifications

ScreenCloud

SOC 2 Type II certification, independently audited every year. Cyber Essentials certification (a UK government scheme). GDPR compliant, data processing agreement available. Encryption at rest and TLS in transit. A named data protection officer. A trust portal (probably Vanta or SafeBase) at trust.screencloud.com.

InfoBox

GDPR compliant, data is not transferred outside the EU. Data is stored in Google Cloud's Finland region. A Finnish company subject to Finnish data protection law. There are no third-party audit certifications (SOC 2, ISO 27001) yet, but practical security (encryption, access control, backups) follows industry practice. If your procurement process requires a SOC 2 report, ScreenCloud is clearly stronger.

Data location

ScreenCloud

Cloud. EU endpoints exist (studio.eu.screencloud.com, webclient.eu.screencloud.com), but the exact provider or region (Ireland, Frankfurt, Stockholm) is not published on the security page. It probably runs in an AWS EU region, but confirming this requires a quote request or a DPA.

InfoBox

Data is stored in Google Cloud's Finland region (region: europe-north1, Hamina). Publicly stated, fully GDPR compliant without a separate data processing agreement. The data location is Finnish, so there is no need to guess the EU region or ask separately.

Support and service model

ScreenCloud

Support in English: email, a contact form and, on the Enterprise plan, phone. Support language options are not mentioned on the website. Help center at help.screencloud.com (in English). Onboarding is only part of the Enterprise plan. Offices in London, Belfast, Bangkok, Charlotte and Los Angeles: 24/7 support for global customers, but no customer service in Finnish.

InfoBox

Daily support in Finnish by email and chat, with guides publicly available online in the help.infoboxi.com help center. Remote or on-site onboarding is included in the software price for every customer. Installation is available for a small extra fee if you want to buy it. Founder Kasper Välimäki handles the hardest cases himself at kasper@infoboxi.com. Office in Tampere.

Remote management and monitoring

ScreenCloud

Browser-based management for multiple screens in ScreenCloud Studio. Real-time status monitoring and remote diagnostics. User permission management confirmed on the security page. SSO and audit logs are available, but which plan includes them is not clear from the website (probably Pro or Enterprise).

InfoBox

One dashboard for all screens. Real-time online/offline status, remote diagnostics and content updates without a site visit. User permission management for multiple users. When offline, content keeps playing on schedule and syncs once the connection returns.

Contract model

ScreenCloud

Core and Pro are self-service, billed monthly or annually. Enterprise on an annual contract, minimum 25 screens. Contract languages and special terms are available in more detail through a quote request. USD-based pricing means your monthly bill varies with the exchange rate if you pay in euros.

InfoBox

Annual billing in euros with no long commitments. You can start with one screen, add screens at any time and end the subscription at the end of the year. No exchange rate risk, the monthly price stays the same.

Honest assessment

Where ScreenCloud is the better choice

Over ten years, ScreenCloud has built a strong position as a digital signage vendor for international companies. In some situations it is clearly a better choice than InfoBox.

  • Number and depth of integrations: around 100 ready-made apps compared with InfoBox's eight. Particular strengths include the full Microsoft 365 suite (including Teams Rooms and Viva Engage), Slack, Geckoboard (90+ KPI sources) and a dozen internal communications platforms (Firstup, LumApps, Staffbase, Simpplr, Unily). If your organisation runs these tools every day, ScreenCloud's app library is clearly richer.
  • Native apps for LG webOS and Samsung Tizen commercial displays: if you have already standardised on LG or Samsung commercial displays, ScreenCloud runs directly on the display with no separate Android device. With InfoBox, these two display brands need an Android device connected through the HDMI port.
  • SOC 2 Type II certification, independently audited every year, and the UK's Cyber Essentials certification. If your procurement process or compliance team requires a third-party security audit, ScreenCloud meets this requirement out of the box. InfoBox does not yet have published third-party certifications.
  • Large-enterprise references: Coca-Cola Consolidated, Beiersdorf (Nivea), NHS Ambulance Service, PCL Construction, First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union, GLS Canada and America's Cup. Convincing for a procurement team that wants to see organisations of the same size among existing customers.
  • Global presence with five offices on three continents (London, Belfast, Bangkok, Charlotte and Los Angeles): follow-the-sun support and an understanding of local markets for multinational customers. InfoBox operates from Tampere, which is enough for a Finnish SME customer but not for an international, distributed team.
  • Tenzing Private Equity's strategic growth investment in April 2025 funds AI features, sales and marketing. ScreenCloud's product development will probably move fast over the next 12–24 months.
  • Free choice of currency: the price list is available in USD, GBP, EUR or CAD. An international group can bill its Finnish subsidiary under the same contract as other countries.
Choosing

Which one is right for you

Choose ScreenCloud if

ScreenCloud is a natural choice when the organisation is part of an international group or needs a wide range of integrations and third-party certifications.

  • You are the Finnish subsidiary of an international group, and the parent company has already chosen ScreenCloud as its global standard (an NHS, Coca-Cola or Beiersdorf-level organisation)
  • You use Slack, Microsoft Teams, Geckoboard or internal communications platforms (Staffbase, LumApps, Firstup) every day and want them directly on your digital signage
  • You have already invested in LG webOS or Samsung Tizen commercial displays and want to avoid separate Android devices in the HDMI ports
  • Your procurement process requires a third-party security certification (SOC 2 Type II or equivalent)
  • You have 100+ screens and a centralised global rollout matters more than the local language
  • Your IT team works in English and the interface language is not a bottleneck
  • You accept USD-based pricing and exchange rate fluctuations in your monthly billing
Recommended

Choose InfoBox if

InfoBox is a natural choice when you want a Finnish-language platform for the communications of a Finnish SME or public sector unit, with a public price in euros and data stored in Finland.

  • You need a Finnish-language interface, support in Finnish and guides in Finnish so that anyone on the team can update the screen
  • You want pricing that is public online in euros, not a quote process or USD/EUR exchange rate swings
  • 1–50 digital signage screens cover your current needs (restaurants, shops, bars, construction sites, offices, lunch restaurants, pharmacies, furniture stores)
  • You need the Lounastaja integration (lunch menus that update automatically) or the Sitedrive integration (construction site schedules), which ScreenCloud does not offer
  • You want your data in Finland (Google Cloud's Finland region, Hamina) without separate quote requests or data processing agreements
  • You value onboarding (remote or on-site) being included in the software price for every customer, not only on a 25+ screen Enterprise plan
  • You value annual billing with no long commitments, with the same €7/screen/month price from just ten screens
  • You want to reach the founder directly when something unresolved comes up
  • You don't want to buy displays separately: InfoBox now also offers turnkey display leasing (Hisense or Maxhub display, software and pre-installation from €24/screen/month, 36-month lease via Grenke)
Switching

How to switch from ScreenCloud to InfoBox

Your ScreenCloud contract is probably open-ended or renews a year at a time. You can still start trying InfoBox side by side on one screen before making a final decision.

  1. 1Sign up for the 14-day free trial at infoboxi.com, no credit card needed.
  2. 2Export your current content from ScreenCloud Studio: images, videos and PDFs to your own computer. ScreenCloud Studio is browser-based, so exporting works directly.
  3. 3List your current integrations in ScreenCloud (Power BI, Canva, SharePoint, Google Drive, YouTube). Check that InfoBox's ready-made integrations cover the ones that are critical to you. If you use Slack, Geckoboard or an internal communications platform, think about alternatives (e.g. reports through Power BI into InfoBox).
  4. 4Upload your content to InfoBox: images, videos, PDFs and website URLs. Connect the ready-made integrations to YouTube, Power BI, Canva, Google Slides, Sinebrychoff ContentHub, Lounastaja, Google Drive and others.
  5. 5Connect one screen with the InfoBox app. Options: the built-in system of an existing Android TV, your own Android tablet, Fire TV, a generic Android stick or the €59 InfoBox Basic stick.
  6. 6Run both side by side: keep the ScreenCloud contract active on your other screens and compare usability, content and total cost for a couple of weeks.
  7. 7Once the result is clear: give notice on your ScreenCloud contract according to its terms and move the remaining screens to InfoBox.

Frequently asked questions

Is ScreenCloud cheaper than InfoBox?+

No. ScreenCloud's cheapest Core plan is $20/screen/month (~€18), Pro is $30/screen/month (~€28) and Enterprise is on quote (minimum 25 screens). InfoBox starts at €7/screen/month (10+ screens) or €9/screen/month (1–9 screens). Example software cost for five screens: InfoBox €540/year, ScreenCloud Core about €1,100/year and ScreenCloud Pro about €1,660/year. ScreenCloud is structurally about twice as expensive on Core and about three times as expensive on Pro. With 25 screens on Pro, the difference is about four times.

Can I get ScreenCloud in Finnish?+

No. ScreenCloud's interface, guides, customer service and marketing material are in English. The company has no offices in Finland and no customer service in Finnish. A Finnish version (screencloud.com/fi) returns a 404. If you want a platform in Finnish, InfoBox is designed with that as a starting point: the interface, guides, support and onboarding are all in Finnish.

Is the data stored in Finland with both?+

InfoBox's data is stored in Google Cloud's Finland region (europe-north1, Hamina). Fully GDPR compliant, data is not transferred outside the EU, and no separate data processing agreement is needed. ScreenCloud uses an EU endpoint (studio.eu.screencloud.com), but the exact region (Ireland, Frankfurt, Stockholm) is not stated on the security page. If data location is a critical requirement in your procurement process, confirm it with ScreenCloud separately.

Does InfoBox support the same integrations as ScreenCloud?+

Partly. Both have YouTube, Power BI, Canva, Google Slides and SharePoint. InfoBox also has Lounastaja (lunch menus that update automatically in Finnish restaurants), Sitedrive (construction site schedules), Sinebrychoff ContentHub and Google Drive. ScreenCloud also has the full Microsoft 365 suite (Teams, Teams Rooms, Outlook, Viva Engage), Slack, Geckoboard (90+ KPI sources), a dozen internal communications platforms (Staffbase, LumApps, Firstup) and around 80 other apps. If you use Slack or Geckoboard every day, ScreenCloud covers them directly. If you use Lounastaja or Sitedrive, InfoBox is the only option.

Do I need ScreenCloud's stick (PIXI) or the InfoBox Basic stick?+

Not necessarily. Both platforms run directly on Android TVs (Sony, Philips, TCL, Vestel, Maxhub, Hisense and other Android TV brands) with no extra device. ScreenCloud also runs directly on LG webOS and Samsung Tizen commercial displays with a native app. For older TVs or LG and Samsung consumer TVs, you need an Android device in the HDMI port: ScreenCloud's PIXI ($65) or ScreenCloud OS ($199), the €59 InfoBox Basic stick or your own Android device (tablet, Fire TV, generic stick).

Can I switch from ScreenCloud to InfoBox mid-contract?+

You can start InfoBox's 14-day free trial at any point, even while your ScreenCloud contract is active. Running both systems side by side on one screen gives you a realistic comparison before you commit. The end of your ScreenCloud contract is governed by its own terms. Content (images, videos, PDFs) is easy to export from ScreenCloud Studio to your own computer and upload again to InfoBox.

Does ScreenCloud have Finnish customers?+

No Finnish customers can be found publicly. ScreenCloud's customer list focuses on large companies in the UK, the US and Germany (NHS, Coca-Cola Consolidated, PCL Construction, Beiersdorf). International groups operating in Finland may use it as part of a global standard, but the company has no public Finnish reference and no local reseller network.

Is a ScreenCloud contract multi-year?+

The Core and Pro plans are available with monthly or annual billing, self-service online. Enterprise (minimum 25 screens) is typically an annual contract, with exact terms available through a quote. InfoBox's contract model is simpler: annual billing with no long commitments for every customer. You can start with one screen and end the subscription at the end of the year.
